Description: Furloughs and layoffs are raising issues with the actively at work plan definition. Plan sponsors are amending their plans and/or creating letters of understanding with their Stop Loss carriers that reflect the unique needs of their situations. States are imposing a variety of requirements on Stop Loss carriers to give plans a longer period of time to pay premiums, which complicates Stop Loss claim processing and can trigger issues with prompt pay clauses in network contracts.
