Current Status of Transitional Reinsurance Fee Regulations and Employer Responsibilities
This webinar is intended to provide an overview of the Transitional Reinsurance Fee Regulations and help TPAs understand their responsibilities to pay the fee on behalf of plans. The discussion will help guide TPAs to address the issue of reimbursement of the fee. How the issues of exclusions for self-funded and self-administered plans impact TPAs. The Webinar will provide TPAs with an understanding of the different methodologies of counting plan participants, when the data is required to be submitted to HHS and when payment is due. Additionally, the speaker will provide a number of specific recommendations to help TPAs understand and fulfill their role in compliance with the Transitional Reinsurance Fee regulation.
Learning Objectives
1. Attendees will gain a complete understanding of the current Federal Regulations regarding the Transitional Reinsurance Fee including:
- What are TPA Responsibilities?
- What methodologies for counting plan participants are available for purposes of the fee?
- When, and how will reporting be done to HHS? When is payment due?
- Are the exceptions for self-funded and self-administered plans available to TPA clients?
2. Attendees will learn the structure of how the Transitional Reinsurance Fee regulations came about and expectations for the use of the fee by state entities.
3. Attendees will gain insight into Legislative and Regulatory challenges to application of the Transitional Reinsurance Fee.
