Description
The IRS and DOL jointly issued guidance that will extend certain time frames until after the end of the National Emergency. These time frames include the special enrollment period, the COBRA election and premium payment periods, and the time periods for filing claims and appeals. These extensions, which are retroactively effective March 1, will require immediate action to modify systems and notices.
Then, on the heels of the jointly issued guidance, the IRS issued two notices that provide flexibility to employers to allow certain health plan and FSA election changes that might not otherwise be permitted under the Section 125 rules and to extend grace periods and plan years that end in 2020 through December 31, 2020.
In this webinar, we will address both the technical and practical aspects of both the jointly issued guidance and the IRS notices.
